Its probably not a good idea to take the advice of yahoo answers over your own doctor. . . . .
Absolutely correct mean while you have to continue your medication, further be carefull not to gain weight. If weight gain occur ultimately Pressure also raise so please be carefull. Hypertension is like a time boom if learn how to handle it then no problem.
They reason he doesn’t want you to exercise with weights is because he doesn’t feel like your heart needs to be exerted in a strenuous way at the time. I bet, after time, you will get the green light to do this but your doctor wants to make sure your in good physical condition first.
Weightlifting can temporarily increase blood pressure and this is a concern for individuals with known high blood pressure. Aerobic exercise is associated with improvements in blood pressure and it is recommended for all individuals with high blood pressure. High blood pressure is not an absolute contraindication to weightlifting, but it should be done with caution. It also depends on how well your blood pressure is controlled normally. If you have well controlled blood pressures (< 140/90) then it may be possible for you to weight lift and not have any problems. If your blood pressure is not well controlled, then you should avoid weightlifting since it could raise the blood pressure to dangerous levels. It is best to discuss this with your doctor though, because none of us know the details of your medical history. Good luck.
